We are excited to be hosting our annual fundraiser for education programs, the Mission Creek Soiree, on Saturday, May 18. For this special event, the Museum Backyard, Santa Barbara Gallery, Mammal Hall, and Bird Halls are temporarily closed to the public. The Museum will close early at 3:30 PM. But don't worry, there's plenty more to explore all over campus, including a sneak peek of our new dinosaur exhibit Prehistoric Forest!

Space Sciences & Planetarium

The Gladwin Planetarium is the only planetarium on the Central Coast that features live, multimedia shows. You can tour the constellations of the night sky, fly through the Milky Way galaxy, and explore the surface of the Moon.

Blue Sky and red Sun: myths and false claims in astronomy. We will try to correct some misconceptions in astronomy and answer some popular questions including: Why is the sky blue?
